The south island is totally different then the north island. On the south island you can find a lot of beautiful nature, but almost no culture. The south island has not for nothing the nickname, Little Europe. You can except the find beautiful mountains, cave, glaciers, beautiful beaches etc. Beside nature the south island is also a paradise for adventures. You can kayaking on the sea or in the fjords, abseiling in the caves, walking or ice climbing on glaciers. The only drawback is that the adventures are quite expensive. So you need to have a big (filled) wallet.
